It’s been said that One Hundred Dollars ($100) lends a window into what country music might have become had the industry not been overtaken by pop music production and trite subject matter.
Founded by Ian Russell and Simone Schmidt met in 2006 over their shared love of George Jones’ and Tammy Wynette’s music, the duo were soon joined by pedal steel ace Stew Crookes. Since then, the band has expanded to a full 7-piece country outfit winning fans internationally and earning the status of heroes in their homeland of Canada. A busy schedule of travel and recording can keep them from Toronto for long stretches of time, so when they come home… it’s extra special.
